Truist Park's bold new upgrades set the stage for Braves' season opener
Truist Park has unveiled a fresh lineup of food and fan experiences ahead of the Atlanta Braves' season opener. The stadium, which first opened in 2017, now boasts upgraded LED lighting and new menu items designed to enhance game-day visits.
The Braves will kick off their season on Friday against the Kansas City Royals, following a media day event held on Tuesday to showcase the latest additions. The stadium's new LED system replaces older halogen and metal-halide lights, offering 360-degree field illumination and colour-changing effects. Geoffrey Schmidt, senior director of entertainment and events, described the setup as creating a rock-concert atmosphere. The lights sync with a 185-foot HD video board, a feature absent in the team's previous homes, Turner Field and Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium.
Fans can now try bold new food options, including the Low Country Crunch, Peach Dingers, and A-Town Melt. The Blooperito and The Bat Flip—a seven-inch brioche burger loaded with two pounds of beef, braised short rib, pork belly, cheese, and a fried egg—promise hearty meals. Blue Moon Brewery and Grill has also teamed up with third baseman Austin Riley to release a special beer.
At the South End Trading Company, visitors can purchase game-used gear or bottles of World Series dirt. The shop's The Vault room displays historic Braves memorabilia, adding a nostalgic touch to the modern stadium experience. The upgrades at Truist Park arrive just in time for the Braves' first game of the season. With brighter lights, unique food, and interactive exhibits, the venue aims to give fans a more immersive experience. The team's home opener against the Royals will mark the debut of these new features.
