LahnEggs Daycare Wins €1,000 for Innovative Food Education Program

LahnEggs daycare centre in Lahnstein has been named one of four winners in the #organicfortomorrow project. The initiative, run by BIOVEGAN, received over 160 applications from across Rhineland-Palatinate. The centre will receive €1,000 in funding to support its nutritional education efforts. BIOVEGAN, in partnership with the More Time for Children association, awarded a total of €4,000 to daycare centres with creative approaches to food education. LahnEggs stood out for its plans to use the grant for fresh ideas in this area.

The centre’s chef, Renate, is known for preparing healthy meals for children with great care. LahnEggs will use the funding to host joint cooking classes involving Renate, parents, children, and educators. These sessions will teach cooking skills and bring parents and childcare professionals together.

The grant will also cover additional cooking supplies for families and children. As part of the project, LahnEggs plans to publish a cookbook featuring Renate’s recipes. The €1,000 grant will help LahnEggs expand its cooking activities and provide new resources for families. The cookbook and classes aim to strengthen the centre’s role in promoting healthy eating. The project highlights the importance of practical food education for young children.
