Freiburg Wine Festival 2023: Six Days of Wine, Music and Local Flavors

The Freiburg Wine Festival will run from July 2 to 7, 2023. Entry to the event is free for all visitors. The festival promises a lively programme with music, food, and a wide selection of wines. The festival will officially open on July 2 at 6 p.m. with a ceremony featuring the newly crowned Baden Wine Queen and Mayor Dr. Carolin Jenkner. Over 60 wineries from five regions will take part, offering more than 400 wines and sparkling wines for tasting and purchase.

Fifteen restaurants and food stalls will serve a variety of dishes, including new options like Maultaschen, raclette, and oyster creations. On Student and Apprentice Day, July 7, students and trainees can receive a €3 discount on at least one selected wine at each booth.

The festival will stay open from 5 p.m. to midnight on Thursday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. On Friday and Saturday, it will extend its hours until 1 a.m. The Freiburg Münster Market will continue its regular schedule during the event.

For every glass of wine sold, ten cents will be donated to the Freiburg Münster Building Association. Visitors can enjoy six days of entertainment, including live music, DJs, and street performances. The festival combines local wine, diverse food, and cultural activities in the heart of Freiburg. All proceeds from the wine sales will support the upkeep of the historic Münster.
