Berlin's Michelin-starred restaurants reach new heights with 19 accolades

Berlin’s dining scene has once again been recognised by the Michelin Guide. The city now boasts 19 starred restaurants, with one establishment standing at the very top. Rutz holds the highest honour with three stars. The Michelin Guide awards stars based on strict criteria. Inspectors visit unannounced and judge food on preparation, flavour, creativity, value, and consistency. A single star is a major achievement, while three stars mark 'exceptional cuisine—worth a special journey'.

In Berlin, four restaurants have earned two stars: Coda, Facil, Horváth, and Tim Raue. Beyond the capital, other venues have also gained recognition. Sawito in Falkensee received its first star in 2023. Kochzimmer at Zur Ratswaage guesthouse in Potsdam and Alte Überfahrt in Werder (Havel) each hold one star.

Across Germany, the total number of Michelin-starred restaurants now stands at 339. Berlin’s 19 starred restaurants confirm its status as a culinary hotspot. Rutz remains the only three-star venue in the city. The latest awards highlight the quality and diversity of dining in the region.
