Pizza Studio Tamaki x Moody Tongue Brewery: Pizza Pairing Heaven

Pizza Studio Tamaki Opens in NYC with Craft Beer Pairings

Pizza Studio Tamaki has opened in New York’s East Village. The restaurant is a collaboration between chef Tsubasa Tamaki and Moody Tongue Brewery. Together, they offer a menu of pizzas paired with a selection of craft beers. Chef Tamaki is known for his precise yet simple approach to pizza. His dishes reflect a disciplined path from Tokyo to Naples. Butter chicken is his personal favourite.

The beverage programme features 17 ales, lagers, and sours. These include a Daidai Pilsner with bitter orange notes and a Sudachi lager infused with Japanese lime and white pepper. Jared Rouben, the beverage director at Pizza Studio Tamaki, also serves as brewmaster and partner at Moody Tongue.

Moody Tongue’s beers focus on high-quality ingredients and minimalism. A yuzu pilsner is recommended with a margherita pizza. An Orange Blossom Belgian Blonde pairs well with an Arrabiata. Later this summer, Rouben will introduce a tart blood orange wheat beer designed to complement Tamaki’s butter chicken pizza. The partnership brings together Tamaki’s culinary expertise and Moody Tongue’s ingredient-driven brewing. Guests can expect carefully matched food and drink options. The restaurant aims to deliver a refined yet approachable dining experience.
