Eddie Huang has returned to New York with his family and continues to make waves in food and film. The chef and filmmaker moved back to the city in early 2025, bringing fresh energy to its culinary scene. His career spans restaurants, writing, and directing, with no signs of slowing down. Huang first gained recognition with Baohaus, his Taiwanese restaurant in downtown New York. The eatery became a local favourite before closing during the pandemic. After its shutdown, he found a new home at Flower Shop, where he now serves as executive chef. The move came after he attended a Knicks game with co-owner Dylan Hales and decided to join the team.

Beyond the kitchen, Huang has made his mark in other creative fields. His memoir, Fresh Off the Boat, earned wide acclaim, and he later collaborated with Vice before the company collapsed. In 2021, he released his feature directorial debut, Boogie, expanding his artistic reach.

Now, he balances writing and restaurant work, often starting his day with writing before walking to the restaurant from his Murray Hill apartment.
