Uttar Pradesh overhauls school education with new teacher training reforms

The Uttar Pradesh government is transforming school education under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. A new academic human resource framework is being created to strengthen teacher training, leadership, and learning outcomes in government schools. The State Resource Group (SRG) system is being expanded to improve teacher training and academic leadership across the state. Appointments for key roles are also progressing rapidly, including ARP, District Coordinator (NIPUN), SRG, ECCE Educator, and Special Teacher positions.

Varanasi has achieved 100% ARP availability, setting a benchmark for the state. Other districts like Deoria, Hathras, Basti, Kaushambi, Aligarh, Siddharthnagar, and Kushinagar are also reporting high ARP coverage. The selection process for District Coordinators (NIPUN) has been completed in 39 districts, with the final stages underway in the remaining areas.

ECCE Educator appointments are advancing quickly to support foundational education, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. These reforms are part of a broader institutional transformation aimed at improving the quality of government schools through strong human resources and data-driven monitoring. The state is moving towards comprehensive improvement in government school education. Strengthened academic leadership, enhanced teacher capacity, and better learning outcomes are the expected results of these ongoing reforms.
