Vietnam's health ministry demands stronger public communication strategies by 2026

The Ministry of Health has urged nationwide health agencies to improve strategic and timely communication. This call came during the 2025 National Health Communications Conference, where officials emphasised the need for clearer public engagement. Đoàn Hữu Thiện, Chief of the Office of the Ministry of Health, opened the conference with a keynote address. Delegates discussed various methods to enhance health messaging and ensure wider reach.

The ministry stressed that future communications must prioritise the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies. Health facilities were instructed to take a proactive role in advising on and organising policy-related updates.

A shift to digital and multimedia platforms was also recommended. Official social media channels should become the primary tools for dissemination. The conference highlighted the role of communications as a bridge between state bodies, the health system, and the public.

Stronger inter-agency cooperation was called for to broaden public outreach. The nationwide health communications network must be reinforced, with strict adherence to spokesperson regulations. These efforts aim to ensure reliable information reaches communities effectively. The conference set the stage for 2026, a critical year for implementing the Politburo’s resolutions and the Government’s health sector plans. Strengthened communication strategies are expected to improve public trust and policy delivery. Agencies will now work to apply these directives across the country.
