Plastic clip found inside bread slice sparks safety concerns in Minsk

A woman in Minsk discovered a plastic packaging clip inside a slice of bread she bought from Dana Mall. She shared her concern on social media, highlighting the risk to children who might eat the bread. The pre-sliced loaf came from Minsk Bread Industry. After her post, hygiene and epidemiology officials from Minsk’s Oktyabrsky District visited the factory to investigate.

The inspection confirmed her complaint. It revealed that bread is sealed with a metal-plastic clip during the final packaging stage. If a loaf is missed, the clip can detach and fall into the product. The factory only performs visual checks, with no metal detection in place.

Authorities advised the factory to tighten quality control during packaging. This would help prevent similar incidents in the future. The inspection verified the presence of the clip in the bread. The factory must now improve its processes to ensure safety. No further actions have been reported at this time.
