RV travel surges as 28 million Americans hit the road this winter
Millions of Americans are set to hit the road in RVs this winter. Nearly 28 million plan to travel by RV over the season, with 9 million doing so over Thanksgiving and 7 million over Christmas. The trend highlights a growing interest in this distinctly American way to travel. RV travel is gaining popularity ahead of America’s 250th birthday. This year, 39% of leisure travellers expect to take an RV trip in the coming year. The surge in demand has boosted sales for companies like Blue Compass RV.
Blue Compass RV has seen new RV sales rise by 17% this year. Used RV sales have also climbed by over 20% in recent months. Almost all of the RVs they sell are assembled in the United States, with Indiana producing nearly 86% of all RVs for the U.S. and Canada.
The company is expanding to meet demand. New locations are under construction in Kentucky and Florida. Additionally, Blue Compass RV has acquired stores in Georgia and Virginia. The RV market is thriving, with more travellers choosing this mode of transport. Blue Compass RV’s growth reflects the trend, as it builds and acquires new sites. The industry’s reliance on American manufacturing, particularly in Indiana, remains strong.
