Seres-backed Saidou launches new brand Aiva, targeting AI-defined EVs

Aiva Launches AI-Powered Cars to Redefine Premium Mobility by 2026

A new automotive brand called Aiva has entered the market with a focus on AI-powered vehicles. The name, short for Artificial Intelligence Voyage Ahead, signals its ambition to redefine cars as intelligent, interactive machines. Backed by Seres, the brand aims to compete in the premium segment with models priced above 200,000 yuan ($29,540). The launch follows a major restructuring of Saidou Technology, formerly known as Landian Technology under Seres. The company recently completed asset adjustments and equity changes before unveiling its new brand.

At the launch event, Aiva revealed its first concept car, the Aiva Origin Concept. This was followed by the announcement of its debut mass-production model, the Aiva ME7, set to arrive in late 2026. Production will take place at Seres’s Phoenix factory.

Aiva has partnered with Volcengine for key technologies, including the Doubao large language model and an intelligent cockpit system. However, its models will not use Huawei’s Qiankun intelligent driving platform. Instead, the brand envisions cars as embodied AI life forms—machines capable of perception and independent action. The Aiva ME7 will mark the brand’s first entry into the mainstream auto market. With a starting price above 200,000 yuan, it targets buyers seeking advanced AI integration in their vehicles. Production is scheduled to begin at Seres’s Phoenix facility before the model’s official release next year.
