Duck Duck Go Robot Revolutionizes Warehouse Logistics in California

A year-long partnership between Contoro Robotics and States Logistics has transformed warehouse operations at a key California facility. The collaboration introduced Duck Duck Go, an autonomous robot designed to unload trailers without manual labour. Both companies now plan to expand the system across more sites by 2026.

The robotic unloading system, Duck Duck Go, has handled over 450 floor-loaded, non-palletised trailers in the past 12 months. Operating at States Logistics’ Buena Park facility, the robot allows warehouse staff to work outside the trailer in a safer, more ergonomic environment.

Performance improvements have been significant. Throughput has risen by 20% every six months, thanks to Contoro’s AdaptAI and InteleOp technologies. The system has since evolved to include full palletisation, removing the need for manual handling of freight entirely. States Logistics, which manages over 5.5 million square feet of warehousing in California and Arizona, has positioned itself as a leader in logistics automation adoption. Jesse Sevilla, the company’s Director of Sales and Operations, praised the partnership for boosting both safety and productivity. Dr. Youngmok Yun, CEO of Contoro Robotics, also emphasised the teamwork and forward-thinking approach that made the project successful. Looking ahead, States Logistics plans to deploy more Duck Duck Go robots. The goal is to further automate operations while maintaining high service standards for customers.

The expansion of Duck Duck Go across additional sites is scheduled for 2026. The robot’s ability to unload and palletise freight autonomously has already cut manual labour and increased efficiency. With further rollouts planned, the partnership aims to set new benchmarks in warehouse automation.
