Wolfenbüttel's Schlossplatz transforms into a global street food paradise this weekend
Wolfenbüttel's Schlossplatz will host the StreetFood on Tour festival this weekend. From Friday to Sunday, the square transforms into a bustling international food market with live entertainment. Visitors can expect a mix of creative dishes, music, and family-friendly activities.
The festival kicks off on Friday at 2 PM and runs until 10 PM. On Saturday, doors open earlier at 11 AM, closing again at 10 PM, while Sunday's hours are 11 AM to 8 PM. Around 30 food trucks and stalls will serve everything from gourmet burgers and smoky barbecue to Ugandan matoke with peanut sauce. Other options include Chinese bao buns, Latin American grilled skewers, and Dutch poffertjes.
For those with a sweet tooth, Thai rolled ice cream, churros, and chocolate-dipped fruit will be on offer. Drinks range from coffee to specialty beverages. Live music features on Saturday, with the band *Peaky Pluckers* performing Irish folk tunes. Entry costs €3 for a day pass or €5 for a weekend ticket. Children under 13 enter free. Families can also enjoy a bungee trampoline for kids, adding to the event's appeal.
The festival runs from March 27 to 29, 2026, at Schlossplatz. With a mix of global street food, live performances, and activities, it aims to draw crowds throughout the weekend. Tickets are available at the entrance, and organisers expect a lively turnout.
