Vexillum's Debut Sparkling Wines Earn Top 100 Honors in 2025

A new sparkling wine brand, Vexillum, made its debut in late 2024 and has already earned high praise. Two of its first releases—a Blanc de Blancs Brut and a Rosé Brut—have been recognised among the Top 100 Wines of 2025. Critics have highlighted their quality and value, setting them apart in a crowded market.

Vexillum's first two wines share key characteristics. Both come from eight-year-old vines and undergo 16 months of lees ageing. The riddling process, essential for refining bubbles, is carried out using a gyropalette.

The Blanc de Blancs Brut 2022 is crafted entirely from Chardonnay, with an alcohol content of 11–12%. It offers aromas of white peach and crisp green apple, finishing with delicate floral notes. Reviewers have noted its depth and complexity, comparing it favourably to established brands like Moët & Chandon.

The Rosé Brut Blanc de Noirs 2022 uses 100% Pinot Noir, with an alcohol level of 11.5–12.5%. It delivers strawberry and raspberry scents, layered with floral hints. On the palate, it balances raspberry cream and clementine flavours. Both wines have received strong ratings, including an 88-point score from Arthur Sarkisyan's guide.

Vexillum has released 2,450 bottles of the Blanc de Blancs and 4,900 bottles of the Rosé. Distribution remains limited, focusing on select Western European markets. In Russia, the wines are stocked in specialty shops and supermarkets such as Metro and Azbuka Vkusa.

Vexillum's early success reflects its careful production and distinct flavour profiles. The brand's limited availability adds to its appeal, with both wines now appearing in top rankings. Consumers can find them in high-end retailers, though wider distribution details remain undisclosed.
