Veracruz's Carnival Spirit Arrives in Mexico City for a Free Four-Day Festival

A taste of Veracruz's famous Carnival is coming to Mexico City next year. The Latidos Jarochos event will run from February 12 to 15, 2026, offering music, food, and cultural activities. Organisers describe it as a family-friendly, free celebration open to all, including pets.

The four-day festival will take place at Huerto Roma Verde in the Roma Sur neighbourhood. Each day, from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., visitors can explore live performances, traditional dances, and local crafts. A Mystic Zone will focus on ancestral traditions, while a gastronomic area will serve Veracruz's signature dishes and drinks.

Latidos Jarochos is part of the Bazar México de Mis Amores, a monthly marketplace supporting Mexican talent. This edition highlights Veracruz's culture, featuring workshops, art, and products from local entrepreneurs. Despite the Carnival's long history, little is known about how its traditions have evolved over time.

The event aims to be eco-friendly, with activities designed for all ages. No tickets are required, and attendees can bring their pets along.

The preview event will give Mexico City residents a chance to experience Veracruz's vibrant traditions. With free entry, live entertainment, and cultural displays, it offers a snapshot of one of Mexico's oldest festivals. The festival runs for four days, starting on February 12, 2026.
