Thuringian Specialties in Demand at the Green Week - Thuringia shines at Berlin’s Green Week with sold-out local specialties

Thuringia has strengthened its reputation as a hub for sustainable farming, high-quality food, and countryside tourism. The region’s success came at this year’s Green Week in Berlin, where its exhibitors drew major attention. Many even ran out of stock and needed to replenish supplies during the event.

The 2026 Green Week hosted 1,600 exhibitors from 50 countries. Thuringia’s presence stood out with 74 businesses showcasing their products under a shared pavilion. Visitors snapped up regional specialties, including 29,000 bratwursts and five tons of sausage. Alongside food, 15,300 litres of drinks were sold over the course of the fair.

The event also highlighted Thuringia’s rural tourism, pairing local flavours with holiday offers. Around 350,000 people attended the Green Week this year. Thuringia’s exhibitors reported strong demand, with many selling out and restocking multiple times. Organisers later described the region’s participation as a clear success. The focus on sustainable agriculture and artisanal food helped solidify Thuringia’s position in the market.

The fair’s turnout and sales figures confirm Thuringia’s growing appeal in sustainable food and rural travel. Exhibitors left with new connections and higher visibility for their products. Next year’s event is expected to draw even more interest in the region’s offerings.
