Taco Invader Brings Authentic Mexican Street Food to Honolulu's Howzit Brewers

A popular food truck serving Mexican street food has found a regular spot in Honolulu. Taco Invader, founded by Gilbert Arangure, now operates twice a week at Howzit Brewers on Kamani Street. The truck offers everything from loaded nachos to freshly made tacos, drawing inspiration from Arangure's travels in Mexico and his family's roots in Tijuana.

Taco Invader began as a small taco cart in Kakaako before expanding into a full food truck. The menu includes carne asada, adobada, pollo, and beef and pork chorizo tacos, each priced at $5.75. For larger meals, customers can order a taco rice plate for $15 or loaded nachos for $20.

The truck sources its yellow tortillas from Raiz Tortilla and uses soft tomatoes from Tomato Guy in Hamakua for its homemade salsas. On Taco Tuesdays, between 6 and 8 p.m., tacos drop to $3.50 each.

Taco Invader parks at Howzit Brewers, located at 707 Kapahulu Ave, Honolulu, HI 96816. It serves customers from 5 to 9 p.m. every Monday and Tuesday. Followers can keep up with updates and specials via the truck's Instagram, @tacoinvaderhi.

The food truck continues to grow, offering affordable Mexican street food with fresh, local ingredients. Its regular appearances at Howzit Brewers provide a convenient spot for fans to enjoy tacos, nachos, and more. The discounted Taco Tuesday deal remains a highlight for regular visitors.
