Step into Lee Miller's world at this immersive Sussex event

A two-day event celebrating the life of photographer and war correspondent Lee Miller will take place at The Star in Alfriston, East Sussex. Guests can explore her former home, enjoy a themed dinner, and stay overnight at Olga Polizzi’s nearby hotel. The experience coincides with the release of Lee, the new film starring Kate Winslet. The 'Discover Lee Miller Experience' begins on September 5 with supper at The Star. The following day, attendees will visit Farleys House and Gallery for a private tour of Miller’s home, where her photographs and artworks left by famous friends remain on display.

Miller, born in the US in 1907, was a fashion model before becoming a photographer and war correspondent. She documented key moments of World War II, including The Blitz, the liberation of Paris, and the horrors of Buchenwald and Dachau. One of her most famous images shows her in Hitler’s bathtub, taken on April 30, 1945, with photographer David E. Scherman.

That evening, Ami Bouhassane, director of Farleys House, will host a 'Surrealist Lee Miller Dinner' in The Star’s dining room. The package costs £1,043 for two people sharing a double room, covering two nights’ accommodation, supper, the private tour, and the themed dinner. The event offers a rare chance to explore Miller’s legacy through her home and photography. It also ties in with the upcoming biographical film Lee, bringing renewed attention to her extraordinary life. Tickets include meals, tours, and a stay at The Star, Alfriston.
