Rivian's ALSO Unveils Electric Bikes and Quads for Urban Mobility
Rivian has launched a new micromobility startup called ALSO, unveiling three electric vehicles designed for urban transport. The lineup includes an e-bike and two electric quads, all featuring pedal assist. Amazon has already partnered with ALSO to develop a custom e-cargo quad, signaling strong early interest in the technology.
The move comes as Amazon continues expanding its electric delivery fleet, having previously ordered 100,000 electric vans from Rivian.
ALSO's first products are the TM-B e-bike and two electric quads: the Consumer TM-Q and the Commercial TM-Q. The TM-B e-bike stands out with a modular top frame, a DreamRide drivetrain, and a built-in touchscreen display. It also includes USB-C fast charging and an automatic locking system for security.
The Commercial TM-Q, set for a 2026 release, is designed for deliveries with a covered frame and an integrated cargo box. The Consumer TM-Q and TM-B e-bike will launch later this year. Rivian founder RJ Scaringe has described ALSO as a way to spark excitement for new forms of urban mobility.
Amazon's multi-year partnership with ALSO focuses on creating a custom e-cargo quad for last-mile deliveries. While the company plans to deploy thousands of these vehicles across Europe and the US, no specific cities or regions have been confirmed. Testing remains ongoing, with no public announcements on exact locations.
This collaboration follows Amazon's earlier investment in Rivian's electric vans, reinforcing its push toward sustainable delivery solutions.
The partnership between Amazon and ALSO marks a step toward wider adoption of electric micromobility in logistics. The Commercial TM-Q quad is expected to enter service in 2026, while the TM-B e-bike and Consumer TM-Q will arrive sooner. Amazon's plans for large-scale deployment remain in early stages, with testing still underway before any rollout begins.
