Rascal Brings Interactive Dining to Vienna's Historic Fleischmarkt
Vienna's latest dining spot, Rascal, has opened its doors at the Wilde Aparthotels outpost on Fleischmarkt. The restaurant blends historic architecture with modern touches, offering tableside preparations and interactive experiences. Guests can now enjoy a mix of Viennese classics and bold international dishes in a setting designed for sharing—both food and moments.
The restaurant launched on March 5, 2026, as part of the first Austrian location for Wilde Aparthotels, an international brand expanding into Vienna. Housed in a historic building with 136 rooms, the space also includes Café-Bar Oscar's alongside Rascal. The design preserves original features while adding contemporary elements, creating an atmosphere that encourages guests to document their meals.
Tableside service takes centre stage, with dishes like Caesar salad, beef tartare, and chocolate mousse prepared in front of diners. The menu balances tradition and innovation, starting with Viennese staples such as Frittatensuppe and Tafelspitz salad, alongside burrata and hummus. For mains, options range from halibut poached in lovage broth to a Wiener schnitzel topped with anchovies. Snacks include a 'Snack Tower' filled with deviled eggs and sauerkraut arancini, while latkes add a crispy touch. The wine list features premium selections, including a Bründlmayer rosé priced at €105. In the evenings, the courtyard transforms with AI-generated video installations, inviting guests to engage and interact. The restaurant also introduces playful touches, like the 'Treat the team' option—guests can buy the staff an after-work drink for €4. Tamás Kiss, formerly of Seven North, leads the kitchen, bringing a fresh perspective to the menu.
Rascal joins Wilde Aparthotels' growing network, which already includes locations in Cambridge, Porto, and Amsterdam. The Vienna outpost combines culinary creativity with immersive design, aiming to make dining an event worth capturing. With its mix of live cooking, interactive art, and shareable dishes, the restaurant offers a new way to experience Viennese hospitality.
