Peloton IQ Transforms Home Workouts with AI-Powered Personal Training
Peloton has launched Peloton IQ, an AI-powered system designed to personalise home workouts. The tool uses real-time data to guide users, adjust training plans, and correct form. Early feedback suggests it offers a smoother experience than previous fitness AI, though some members still have concerns about cost.
Peloton IQ builds on earlier AI features introduced in 2023 and 2024, which included workout recommendations and basic form correction. Those versions received mixed reviews—users liked the personalisation but criticised glitches and privacy issues. The updated system, released in late 2025, has improved on those flaws with more seamless real-time coaching and adaptive plans.
The new Bike+ now includes a Movement-Tracking Camera, which provides live feedback on reps, volume, and technique. Peloton IQ analyses past class history, favourite instructors, and even external workouts from Garmin, Fitbit, or Apple Health to tailor recommendations. It also estimates performance and suggests weight adjustments, prompting users to lift heavier or lighter based on progress.
Members can follow instructor-led classes at their own pace using the self-paced strength option. Alternatively, they can build custom workouts with the system's structured plan generator. Peloton IQ supports four key goals: building strength, managing weight, improving cardio, and promoting longevity. Weekly performance summaries and specific insights help users track their progress with minimal manual input.
Unlike earlier AI tools that felt gimmicky, Peloton IQ acts more like a practical coach. It combines computer vision, workout history, and goal-setting to offer real-time guidance. The system even incorporates third-party workout data, ensuring a more complete picture of a user's fitness journey.
Peloton IQ marks a shift toward more responsive, data-driven training at home. The system's ability to adapt workouts and correct form in real time has won praise, though subscription costs remain a concern for some. As of February 2026, the company continues to refine the tool based on user feedback.
