Pakistani-Global Fusion Cookbook Celebrates Simple, Healthy Recipes in Bremen

A new cookbook blending Pakistani flavours with global influences will be showcased at a free event in Bremen. The Well Seasoned Cookbook, created by artist Sabiha Iqbal, offers simple, healthy recipes designed to be made in under an hour. The event takes place on Sunday, January 18, from 2 pm to 3:30 pm at the Athenaeum.

Sabiha Iqbal, an Athenaeum artist, wrote the cookbook to teach her children how to prepare quick, easy meals. Every recipe has been tested in the kitchen, ensuring reliability for home cooks. The dishes combine traditional Pakistani tastes with elements from other cuisines.

At the event, Iqbal will discuss her cooking techniques and how she develops healthy recipes. Attendees can sample foods made from the book while listening to her talk. She will also answer questions about her work.

Since 2020, Iqbal has shared culinary traditions from her Turkish heritage through public workshops and projects. Initiatives like Essen als Erinnerung (Food as Memory) explore cultural stories through recipes and performances. This latest cookbook continues her mission of making cooking accessible and meaningful.

The event provides a chance to taste dishes from The Well Seasoned Cookbook and learn from its creator. Free to attend, it highlights Iqbal's approach to simple, flavourful cooking. The book's healthy recipes are designed for speed, making them practical for busy households.
