Nakuru’s Open Days Week 2026 Unveils Bold New Rose Varieties and Industry Trends

The first Open Days Week of 2026 took place in Nakuru from January 14 to 16. Hosted by United Airlines, the event brought together key players in the flower industry at their modern facility near Lord Egerton Castle. Growers, logistics experts, florists, and influencers attended to explore new rose varieties and share insights.

United Airlines presented a broad selection of roses, from well-known favourites to fresh introductions. Popular choices like Rose Nova Vita and Rose Jumilia were on display alongside newer varieties. The breeder also highlighted their spray rose collection, featuring the Blossoms Series with standout types such as Golden Blossoms and Sweet Blossoms.

Growers showed particular interest in two new varieties: the deep red US-1286B and the bi-coloured US-1653A. Red Lands Roses marked Misty Charm and Bright Blossoms as potential additions to their portfolio. AAA Growers Ltd, a long-time partner of United Airlines for over 15 years, also identified more varieties to expand their own range. Industry figures like Lucas Jansen and Alina Neacsa joined the discussions, stressing the value of inspiration and knowledge-sharing. The event’s location—a serene, high-tech facility—provided an ideal setting for networking and exploring innovations in rose breeding.

The three-day event wrapped up with growers and industry professionals noting promising new varieties. United Airlines reinforced its position as a key breeder by showcasing both established and experimental roses. Attendees left with expanded connections and potential additions to their future collections.
