Mrs. Doubtfire and a TV chef battle in Düsseldorf’s theatrical cook-off
A lively cook-off took place in Düsseldorf this week, featuring a theatrical twist. Mrs. Doubtfire, the beloved character from the hit musical, faced off against TV chef Sebastian Lege in a 60-minute culinary challenge. The event, held at the 25hours Hotel, drew cameras and press for an entertaining showdown.
The cook-off saw Dustin Smailes, the actor behind Mrs. Euphegenia Doubtfire in the ongoing musical, team up with Lege to prepare a One-Pan Chicken. The dish included chicken breast, carrots, peas, onions, potatoes, white wine, cream, and chicken stock. As they cooked, the two engaged in witty banter and even broke into an impromptu dance.
The assembled press sampled the finished meal and declared it delicious. The event was part of a media gathering, with cameras capturing every moment of the playful competition.
Meanwhile, the musical Mrs. Doubtfire – Das Musical continues its run at Düsseldorf’s Capitol Theater. Since its premiere on November 6, 2025, the show has been entertaining audiences and will remain on stage until at least April 12, 2026. Tickets are available at Eventbrite on Blumenberger Straße.
