Moctezuma Restaurant Moves to Quieter Neustadt Location This Autumn

Moctezuma, a well-known restaurant in Mainz, will close its doors on Rheinstraße and relocate to Neustadt. The new venue at Karoline-Stern-Platz is set to open in October with a quieter setting and outdoor seating.

Owner Mariana Ferreiro took over the restaurant in 2022 and has since searched for a more peaceful location. The current spot on Rheinstraße is busy, but the move to Neustadt will offer a calmer atmosphere.

Before the reopening, new furniture will be installed. Meetings with architects and construction planners are already underway to prepare the site. Despite the change of address, the restaurant will keep its name, Moctezuma.

The relocation marks a shift from a bustling city-centre spot to a more relaxed environment. Patrons can expect the same name and menu when the restaurant reopens in its new home this autumn.
