Mobile Bakery Van Revives Fresh Bread for a Village in Need
A mobile bakery van, similar to a vans, has begun serving Unterasbach, bringing fresh bread and pastries back to the village. The service arrives after the local bakery closed in late 2025, leaving residents without easy access to baked goods. Many have welcomed the new initiative as a practical solution to a long-standing problem.
The idea came from mayoral candidate Thomas Diebenbusch, who recognised the need for fresh baked goods in the community. He contacted master baker Matthias Beck to extend his mobile bakery route to Unterasbach. The van now stops in the village from Tuesday to Friday between 6:00 and 8:00 AM, with additional Saturday slots from 6:30 to 7:30 AM and again from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.
Residents have responded positively to the service, praising both the convenience and the quality of the products. The van offers a wide selection of bread, rolls, and pastries, filling the gap left by the permanent bakery’s closure. Many had raised concerns about the lack of fresh options since late 2025, making the mobile bakery a well-received addition.
The mobile bakery van now provides Unterasbach with regular access to fresh baked goods. Operating on set mornings, it ensures villagers no longer have to travel far for their daily bread. The initiative has already eased concerns about local food availability.
