Mazatlán's Agave Festival Returns with 50+ Spirits and Cultural Flair
Mazatlán is set to host the fifth annual Agave Festival on February 27th and 28th, 2026. The event will showcase over 50 labels of agave-based spirits, including tequila, mezcal, and raicilla. Organisers aim to strengthen the city's reputation as a hub for cultural and gastronomic tourism in northwestern Mexico.
The festival will take place at the El Cid Golf Clubhouse, running from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM each day. Visitors can expect gastronomic masterclasses, traditional cooking workshops, and discussions with master distillers. Live music will also feature throughout the event.
Artisanal producers from multiple Mexican states will present their spirits. The festival is organised by a committee led by Norma Bañuelos, with backing from the Sinaloa Ministry of Tourism.
Local partners have previously supported similar events. These include the Mazatlán International Shellfish and Seafood Fair organisers, seafood producers like Mazatleña de Productos del Mar, Hotel Pueblo Bonito resorts, and the Sinaloa Tourism Secretariat. They have participated in events such as the International Fair of Wine and Seafood in Ensenada (2019–2024) and the Sabor a Sinaloa gastronomic festival in Culiacán (2022–2025).
The Agave Festival highlights Mazatlán's growing role in specialised tourism. With a focus on agave spirits and local gastronomy, the event aims to attract visitors and boost regional recognition. Over two days, attendees will explore a diverse range of artisanal products and cultural experiences.
