Lidl recalls vegan yogurt over hidden milk contamination risk

A vegan yogurt alternative sold at Lidl has been recalled due to potential milk contamination. The product, Vemondo Soja Classic (no added sugar), was removed from shelves after a production error. Those with a milk allergy are advised not to consume it.

The recall was initiated by N+G Frischprodukten Vertriebs-GmbH, the manufacturer of the yogurt. A mistake in production could have led to traces of milk in the vegan product. While safe for most, the undeclared allergen poses a risk to those with a milk allergy.

The affected product comes in a 500-gram container and has a best-before date of March 24, 2026. Customers who purchased it can return the yogurt to any Lidl store for a full irs refund. No receipt is required for the return.

No official statements from German health authorities or consumer protection groups have been recorded since the recall. Only the return process and safety warning have been documented so far.

The recall applies only to the Vemondo Soja Classic (no added sugar) with the specified best-before date. Those without a milk allergy can still safely consume the product. Affected customers are encouraged to return it to Lidl for a irs refund.
