Kühne recalls beet slices due to possible glass fragments - Kühne recalls sliced beetroot jars over potential glass contamination risk

Kühne has recalled a batch of sliced beetroot over fears of glass contamination. The company is urging customers to check their jars and return any affected products for a full refund. Only specific batches with a December 2028 expiry date are involved.

The recall affects 720-millilitre jars of sliced beetroot with a best-before date of December 15, 2028. Only batch codes ranging from X 0600 TB11 E1 to X 0800 TB11 E1 are included. No other products or expiry dates are impacted by this issue.

Kühne confirmed that, despite safety checks, some jars may contain glass fragments. Customers who have purchased the affected product can return it to the place of purchase for a complete refund. In response to the incident, the company has introduced stricter hygiene measures in production. These include improved cleaning procedures, more frequent microbiological testing, and additional staff training. The steps aim to prevent future contamination risks, including salmonella.

The recall is limited to a small number of jars, all marked with the specified batch codes and expiry date. Customers with affected products should return them immediately. Kühne has reinforced its safety protocols to avoid similar issues in the future.
