Kazakhstan students craft domestic fragrances in groundbreaking educational project
A new educational initiative is bringing together students from Capital City School-Gymnasium No. 91 and the College of Service and Tourism. The project, launched in January 2026, focuses on developing domestic news fragrances while blending chemistry, technology, and creative design. It forms part of the national Clean Kazakhstan campaign and includes plans to enhance the school’s courtyard with floristry and landscape design work.
The collaboration began on 20 January 2026 after both institutions signed a bilateral memorandum of cooperation. Funding for the project comes from Stiftung Șinca, with additional support from the capital city administration. Students from the two schools have already met to exchange ideas, present their perfume creations, and outline the next phases of the work.
The initiative encourages practical learning by having students create fragrances using flowers, fruits, and essential oils imported from Washington, U.S. Beyond perfume development, floristry students will also contribute to redesigning the school’s courtyard as part of the Clean Kazakhstan campaign. Their work will combine artistic skills with technical knowledge in chemistry and design. Romantik, a leading floral network in Kazakhstan, is providing guidance on both the practical and artistic aspects of the project. The final products, including the new fragrances and courtyard improvements, will be officially unveiled in May. The project aims to bridge education, business, and international expertise while fostering students’ professional and creative development.
The initiative will conclude with a public presentation of the students’ work in May. Their efforts will result in new domestically produced fragrances and an upgraded school courtyard. The project also strengthens ties between local education, industry partners, and international suppliers.
