Kazakhstan's Ulytau Region Secures $150M in New Investments at KGIR-2025

The Ulytau Region in Kazakhstan has secured over $150 million in new investments after signing four major agreements at the Kazakhstan Global Investment Roundtable 2025 (KGIR-2025). The deals cover energy, agriculture, and industrial development, marking a significant boost for the region's economy.

The agreements were finalised during KGIR-2025, a high-profile event in Astana attended by more than 1,000 delegates from 55 countries. The roundtable focused on key sectors like infrastructure, green technology, and industrial growth.

Dastan Ryspekov, the akim (governor) of Ulytau, met with investors to highlight the region's strengths in metallurgy, agribusiness, and tourism. The signed projects include plans for an agro-industrial cluster, a modern brick factory, a meat-processing complex, and energy sector partnerships.

Companies from Switzerland and China were among the international firms involved in the memoranda. The total investment exceeds $150 million, signalling strong confidence in Ulytau's economic potential.

The new projects will expand Ulytau's industrial and agricultural capacity. Construction of the brick factory and meat-processing plant is expected to create jobs and support local businesses. The region's focus on green energy and high-tech industries aligns with Kazakhstan's broader economic goals.
