Joe Beddia's Bar Etna Brings East Coast Pizza to Newington Green

A new East Coast-inspired pizza bar, Bar Etna, will open in Newington Green on Thursday 7th May. The venue marks the first international project for Pizzeria Beddia founder Joe Beddia, who has teamed up with Four Legs founder Ed McIlroy for this venture. Guests can expect a mix of New York and Philadelphia pizza traditions in a relaxed setting. Bar Etna will serve four classic 14-inch thin-crust pizzas alongside simple small plates. On Fridays and Saturdays, slices will be available late into the evening. The upstairs dining area can accommodate up to 40 people, while the split-level space draws inspiration from mid-century Milan.

The drinks menu includes house spritzes, Negroni and vermouth on tap, plus a curated wine selection. Reservations can be made online, offering guests an easy way to secure a table. This collaboration brings together Beddia’s renowned pizza expertise and McIlroy’s experience in hospitality. The result aims to feel like a neighbourhood Italian bar, blending American pizza culture with laid-back European charm.
