Iloilo's iconic dishes steal the spotlight at Macau's 2026 gastronomy festival

Three Iloilo food establishments are making waves at the 2026 International Cities of Gastronomy Fest in Macau. Representing the city as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, they have already sold out their products on the festival's second day. The event runs from March 20 to 29 at the Macau Fisherman's Wharf.

The participating restaurants from Iloilo are Kap Ising's Pancit Molo, Netong's La Paz Batchoy, and Sunburst's Balay Tablea. Each is showcasing signature dishes like Pancit Molo and La Paz Batchoy, both beloved local specialities. Their offerings proved so popular that all three stalls sold out on March 22, as reported by the Iloilo City of Gastronomy Technical Working Group.

The festival takes place at the International Gastronomy Promenade, located at Roman Amphitheatre Square and Legend Boulevard. Visitors can explore the event daily, with weekday hours from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and extended weekend hours from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The strong demand for Iloilo's dishes highlights their appeal at an international level. With the festival continuing until March 29, organisers may need to prepare for further high interest. The event provides a platform for these establishments to share their culinary traditions beyond the Philippines.
