Goslar Hosts Organic Catering Networking Event on November 26
A networking event focused on organic catering will take place in Goslar on November 26, 2023. Organised by the Goslar District Organic Model Region, the gathering aims to promote regional organic food in schools, canteens, and other public dining settings. The event runs from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the District Administration Building’s Large Conference Hall. The morning will begin with a presentation by Dr. Marie Wendt from the Marketing Company for Lower Saxony’s Agriculture and Food Industry (MGN). Her talk, titled Lower Saxony Eats Organic – Project Module Overview, will outline the goals of the wider initiative. The project itself is funded by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Consumer Protection.
Nikolaus Roleff, project manager of the Goslar District Organic Model Region, will follow with Snapshots: Activities in Communal Catering Within the Organic Model Region. His session will highlight ongoing efforts to integrate organic produce into local catering services.
Later, Stefan Gerhart, managing director of Frischeküche, will discuss Rethinking Organic School Meals in a Holistic Framework. His presentation will explore practical ways to improve organic meal programmes in schools.
The event will also feature an interactive Future Workshop, where attendees can brainstorm local actions for the Goslar district. The day will wrap up with a networking lunch snack, providing a chance for participants to connect over organic food. The event forms part of the Lower Saxony Eats Organic project, which seeks to expand the use of regional organic products in public catering. By bringing together experts, caterers, and local stakeholders, the initiative hopes to create lasting changes in how organic food is sourced and served across the region.
