Four Visionary Educators Redefine Learning with Bold Innovations

Four education leaders have been recognised for their innovative work in schools. The Tech & Learning Innovative Leader Awards highlighted their contributions to digital learning, student well-being, and creative teaching spaces. Each winner brought unique solutions to their districts, improving education for thousands of students.

Kristy L Beam, Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning in City Schools of Decatur, won for Most Innovative Learning Spaces. She introduced a virtual learning programme for the district’s 6,000 students. Her work also included high-quality teacher training and social-emotional support to ensure a smooth transition.

Dr. Claudia Martinez, an ESOL teacher at North Tattnall Middle School, took home the award for Best Example of Teacher & Student Well-Being Programs. She published a book with her students, *Untold Immigrant Stories*, and organised a Hispanic Heritage Month celebration. These projects gave students a voice and strengthened the school community. Sam Brooks, Supervisor of Personalized Learning in Putnam County School System, won for Best Implementation of Digital Curriculum. He created an online personal finance course in partnership with the Lampo Group and Florida Virtual School. The class expanded learning opportunities for students beyond traditional subjects. Cristin Kennedy, Director of Instructional Technology in Cobb County Schools, received the award for Best Overall Implementation of Technology. She developed a custom learning management system for a district of over 100,000 students. Her leadership also helped the district quickly shift to remote learning when needed.

The awards celebrate administrators who push boundaries in education. Their initiatives—from virtual learning to well-being programmes—have made a measurable difference in schools. The recognised projects now serve as models for other districts looking to innovate.
