Fluffy soufflé pancakes steal the show at HCM City’s NuAge Café
Nguyễn Việt Đức recently visited NuAge Café, a cosy spot in An Khánh Ward, HCM City. The small establishment is known for its signature soufflé pancakes, which come with a range of creative toppings. Đức tried the dish for himself and shared his thoughts on the experience.
The café’s soufflé pancakes take around 20 minutes to prepare, though some online reviews mention even longer waits. While waiting, diners can enjoy the charming interior, filled with fluffy hanging decorations and stuffed animals. Board games are also available to pass the time.
Đức ordered the soufflé pancake topped with Oreo bits, chocolate sauce, and cream. He enjoyed the mix of textures and flavours, describing the pancakes as thick, spongy, and lightly sweet. Other topping options include strawberry, mango, caramel, and matcha, with Đức preferring fruitier choices. His wife opted for a version with tiramisu and coffee, but found it too bitter for her taste. Prices for the dishes range from VND 99,000 (US$3.8) to VND 109,000, which Đức considered high compared to other Vietnamese desserts. Despite the cost, he found the overall experience pleasant. The café’s atmosphere and the quality of the pancakes left a positive impression.
NuAge Café offers a unique dessert experience with its soufflé pancakes, though the prices may be steep for some. Đức appreciated the textures and flavours, as well as the café’s playful decor. He mentioned he would return for another sweet treat in the future.
