Emart Opens First No Brand Store in Thailand's Bangkok Mall
Emart, South Korea's biggest discount retailer, has launched its first No Brand store in Thailand. The outlet opened in Bangkok's Central Bangna shopping mall, marking the company's latest move into Southeast Asia. This follows earlier expansions into Laos and signals further growth plans across the region. The new store in Thailand stocks roughly 2,300 items, from Korean snacks to instant noodles. Shoppers can also try freshly made dishes like gimbap and tteokbokki at an in-store cooking station.
Emart first took its No Brand concept to Laos in December 2024. Since then, it has expanded to four locations in the country. Thailand and Vietnam were named as key targets in 2024, with more openings expected by early 2026.
The Bangkok outlet serves as a strategic base for promoting Korean food and Emart's brand across Southeast Asia. The company aims to build on its regional presence through both direct stores and franchise partnerships. The Bangkok launch strengthens Emart's foothold in Thailand and follows its earlier success in Laos. With plans to enter Vietnam soon, the retailer is steadily expanding its No Brand footprint. The move reflects growing demand for Korean products in the region.
