DeKalb County Hosts Free Drive-Thru Food Giveaway This Saturday

DeKalb County will hold a drive-thru food distribution event on Saturday, January 31. The initiative aims to hand out 4,000 boxes filled with fresh produce and nonperishable items to local residents. No registration is needed to collect a box.

The event is organised by DeKalb County CEO Lorraine Cochran-Johnson and the board of commissioners. Faith leaders, volunteers, and community groups have also joined the effort to support distribution.

Six locations across the county will provide the food boxes. Supplies will be given out until they run out. Each box contains essential groceries to help families in need.

This drive-thru format ensures quick and safe access for participants. The county has encouraged anyone requiring assistance to attend one of the designated sites.

The food distribution comes as part of ongoing efforts to address local food insecurity. Organisers have prepared enough boxes to support thousands of households. Residents can arrive at any of the six locations to receive aid without prior sign-up.
