CHINT Launches iDCM7 Smart DC Energy Meter for Europe's EV Charging Boom
CHINT has released a new energy meter designed for Europe’s growing electric vehicle charging network. The iDCM7 Smart DC Energy Meter meets strict EU standards and supports high-power charging needs. Its robust build and flexible configurations aim to serve everything from residential chargers to heavy-duty logistics hubs. The device operates reliably in extreme conditions, handling temperatures from -35°C to +70°C. It also resists humidity up to 95 percent without condensation, ensuring durability in varied climates. Current settings range from 250 A to 650 A, allowing adaptation to different load demands in community and residential charging setups.
Certified under the EU Measuring Instruments Directive (MID), the meter delivers 0.5 percent accuracy and Class B energy measurement. Its 650 A maximum output exceeds the EU’s 2025 requirement for 400 kW charging pools. For data integration, it supports RS485, Ethernet, Modbus-RTU, HTTP, and HTTPS protocols, ensuring compatibility with major European charging networks. A 1,000 V version with a 12 to 24 V DC auxiliary supply is available for commercial EVs in logistics parks. The meter’s versatility extends to highway charging hubs, urban commercial centres, and residential charging points.
The iDCM7 Smart DC Energy Meter is now available for deployment across Europe. Its high accuracy, wide temperature tolerance, and modular current options make it suitable for diverse charging applications. The device’s compliance with EU regulations positions it as a key component in expanding EV infrastructure.
