Bolt Food Enters On-Demand Retail With Quickmart

Bolt Food and Quickmart launch Kenya's instant grocery delivery service

Bolt Food has teamed up with Quickmart Supermarkets to bring on-demand retail delivery to Kenya. The new service lets customers order groceries, household essentials, and more through the Bolt Food app. Over 12,000 products are now available for doorstep delivery across the country.

This partnership marks Bolt Food’s shift beyond restaurant meals. The company is now expanding into everyday convenience shopping as part of its growth strategy. The collaboration covers more than 60 Quickmart stores nationwide. Shoppers can browse a wide range of items, from fresh groceries to wellness products, all within the Bolt Food app. The move aligns with Quickmart’s 20th anniversary in Kenya, adding digital convenience to its long-standing retail presence.

Ali Zaryab, Bolt Food’s General Manager for Kenya and Ghana, highlighted the benefits for customers. He noted that the service simplifies access to daily necessities while reinforcing Bolt’s position in digital commerce. Betty Wamaitha, Quickmart’s Chief Marketing Officer, echoed this sentiment, calling the partnership a major step in expanding their digital reach.

Beyond this deal, Bolt Food has plans for further retail expansion. More partnerships are already in development, signalling a broader push into Kenya’s on-demand shopping market. The company is also investing in technology and operational upgrades to support its growing service network. The Bolt Food and Quickmart partnership offers customers a faster way to shop for essentials. With thousands of products now just a tap away, the service aims to meet rising demand for digital convenience. The expansion also strengthens Bolt’s foothold in Kenya’s competitive e-commerce sector.
