Bar Pisellino Expands to NYC's Iconic Flatiron Building by 2027

James Beard Award-winning chefs Rita Sodi and Jody Williams, the duo behind some of New York's most acclaimed restaurants—think Via Carota, Buvette, The Commerce Inn, and I Sodi—are expanding their beloved Bar Pisellino into the landmarked Flatiron Building.

The historic structure is currently undergoing a sweeping renovation, transforming from office space into luxury condominiums (which, as you can see here, are nothing short of stunning). And before long, Bar Pisellino will add even more energy to this architectural icon's next act.

First opened in 2019 at the corner of 52 Grove Street and Seventh Avenue, Bar Pisellino quickly became a neighborhood staple, with its sidewalk seating and standing bar space. The airy, all-day café-bar won over New Yorkers as the go-to spot for espresso and aperitivi.

According to a spokesperson for the Flatiron Building, the new Bar Pisellino will occupy the building's base, featuring soaring ceilings, restored architectural arches, and outdoor seating, as reported by 6sqft.

Sodi and Williams told the magazine:

Construction on Bar Pisellino Flatiron is set to begin this summer, with completion slated for 2027. Once open, the new location will mark the first Sodi and Williams restaurant outside the West Village.
