Almaty's Weekend Farmers' Markets Open with Fresh, Affordable Produce

Almaty’s weekend markets have opened for the season, offering fresh produce straight from local farmers. Residents can now buy seasonal berries, fruits, vegetables, and more at five key locations across the city. All goods undergo strict quality checks before being sold. The markets operate every Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Shoppers will find them at Masanchy Street, 33/2 Ryskulbekov Street, Kazakfilm residential area, Kulager residential area, and the intersection of Mendykulov and Bekturov streets. Vendors include farmers from Almaty and the surrounding region, selling everything from meat and dairy to honey and baked goods.

Fresh strawberries are now in season, with most supplies coming from Karasai District in Almaty Region, Turkestan Region in Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan. The markets cut out middlemen, so prices stay low. Before sale, every item must pass mandatory inspections and document verification to ensure quality.

The weekend markets give Almaty residents direct access to fresh, affordable produce. Farmers benefit by selling straight to customers, while shoppers enjoy a wide selection of inspected goods. The initiative runs every weekend at five designated sites across the city.
